Show season has officially started for team BEST. It was a long stretch since the last one so we had some cobwebs to knock off and learning to do. Thank you Yarra Yarra and Laurie for another great show.
Kelly and Tamale moved up the big jump from 1st level to 2nd level with success and they’re an official 2nd Level pair now! Tamale was a bit tense (as expected for the first show in a while and the unseasonable brisk weather) but they managed two good tests with solid scores and two first place ribbons! Looking forward to seeing this pair continue to develop at this level this year.
Rachel and Jax went out for their second attempt at PSG with some mistakes in floorplan and mistakes in the changes marring their attempts. However Rachel showed improved riding for the level and Jax showed off some beautiful trot work (his best at a show yet). There’s a lot to work on at home, but Jax continues to show promise and ability when he understands the assignment.
Brenda and Trevor made a big impression going out their first time at I1. Trevor isn’t always judged the most generously…being an Arabian with small gaits…but today they put out two clean, lovely tests and were judged a 63.824% for their very first attempt at the level! It was a great start of the season for Trevor to go for another All Breeds award. Looking forward to the rest of the year!
