Yarra Yarra June 2024

June Yarra Yarra was a busy show for us with lots of pairs going to work on various goals.

Yarra Yarra June 2024

First off in the morning was Rachel and Jax. They were going out with one goal this show: to earn their last score towards Rachel’s Bronze Freestyle Bar. They managed to not only earn their score…but far surpass the required score with a 71.579%. Rachel has now earned her Bronze Bar. She created all three freestyles by herself. We know it was a lot of hard work to get this done, so proud of the pair for finishing it off. They will now be taking a well earned break for the rest of the show year to continue working on the changes so that we can get Jax solid at 4th Level/PSG work.

Next was Brenda and Trevor at PSG and 4th Freestyle. Trevor had two solid tests, with a very good ride for their 4th level Freestyle (and Trevor hit ALL the changes on the correct count!). Very proud of this boy. It’s not easy to be a 20 year old showing these levels and he keeps improving every show. He still has some goals for the year to meet, so he’ll be out for another show soon.

Next was Mia and Dandy at Training Level. Mia went into the show needing one more score for JR Champs and came up just short. They did have three good and consistent scores/rides. Mia had a huge learning moment in her last ride of the day (which we can all learn from): the moment she realized she wasn’t going to get her score to qualify and the test was “blown”…she relaxed and got 7’s in every box after. We can all learn from that lesson…sometimes letting go a bit is all you need to do to take your riding to the next level. Well done Mia! Next show out is going to be a big one for you!

Then we had Lisa and Layla with two very consistent rides (though the scores didn’t show it). They finished their day with a very nice 68.636% at 1st level. They have become a solid and lovely 1st level pair.

Last was Brenda and her super pony Willa at 1st level. Willa produced two beautiful rides with minor mistakes in both. The judging was again quite a bit different between one judge and the other with one ride getting a super 71.389%! They earned the Barons High Point award for that test! Whoohooo! They likely solidified their All Breeds award as well.

All in all, it was a good show with lots of goals met and lots of learning had by all. Looking forward to the next one!
