We lost Spice on the last day of July 2019. Spice was with BEST for two decades, so his loss is especially hard. He was a horse like no other and had no hesitation to show his love to his people. He made it to the heights of the FEI levels twice, despite his early diagnosis saying he wouldn’t. Brenda earned her USDF Silver Medal on him and Rachel earned her Bronze (and they were very close to earning her Silver). Spice qualified for Championships multiple times, attended Jr. Championships and RAAC. He won the 4th level class at North RAAC 2018 and was the 2018 4th Level Dressage Champion for the Jockey Club TIP Awards at the “advanced” age of 22. He never believed in that number.
Spice loved his cuddles, grooming, cookie time, standing in the rain and rolling in puddles, having a good gallop and going out for work time every day. He will be remembered fondly always. We love you Spice. Thank you for all the time and love and try you gave so many of us. There will never be another like you.
