Once Upon A Dream

Once Upon A Dream, 2008 Thoroughbred Gelding

Dream joined the BEST team in 2015.  Kyana acquired him from a friend who works with thoroughbred rescues.  It only took a few weeks to realize he was special.  Since then he has blossomed into a truly talented eventer.  He can be seen at the barn flying over fences or babysitting first time riders.  He has been shown by an adult amateur for the last several years with a lot of success.  He came in second in the Novice division with his leaser at the 2016 May Event at Woodside, his first ever recognized show.  He moved up to Training in 2017.

Fabled Island

Fable – 2010 Pinto Chincoteague Pony

Fabled Island, better known as Fable, is the most amazing 13.2hh show pony. He is a stand-out eventing pony. He is a good mover and, with his handsome looks, he is always a favorite with the dressage judges. He is a clean jumper and has competed in horse trials in California, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia. He has eight 1st place Beginner Novice finishes including 2018 Area VI Championships at Woodside International Horse Trials.

Fable has a great personality and no vices. He bathes, clips, ties, and stands for the farrier. Fable is safe, easygoing, and a great confidence builder. While he is a proven event pony, he has good potential as a dressage and hunter pony too. He needs a rider with a strong leg, thus, a pre-teen, teenager, or small adult amateur rider are ideal.

Fable was born on Assateague Island, Virginia. His dam is Wild Island Orchid and his sire is Witchdoctor. They are 2 of the 150 wild ponies on Assateague Island that are managed by the Chincoteague Island Fire Department. Wild ponies have inhabited Assateague Island for hundreds of years. They are most likely descended from Arabian horses that survived a shipwrecked Spanish galleon in 1750. Each July, thousands of spectators watch the Fire Department’s roundup of the ponies as they swim a channel at low tide from Assateague Island to Chincoteague Island. The Fire Department then holds an auction of most of the foals. Fable was purchased at this auction in July 2010.
